Although we currently have 49 active matches - Kinship is continually looking for volunteers to be mentors or to be on various committees, including the activity committee, fundraising committee, or other one time event committees.

Currently there are 16 children waiting for mentors, with many more identified as appropriate and in need of Kinship.

Barbie is a 14 year old girl who has made some mistakes, but is working on getting back on track.  Barbie considers herself a "tomboy" who likes all sports, especially swimming, basketball and soccer.  She likes reading, drawing, and snowmobiling.  Barbie really likes ice cream! Barbie wants a mentor to do things together and just hang out.

Aviana is an energetic, funny, fast paced 5 year old girl who likes swimming, reading, drawing, sledding, watching movies and playing dolls.  Aviana wants to be in Kinship because it is more fun that school...  Aviana needs another positive role model and hopes to find someone who will spend some one-on-one time with her.

Kobe is a shy, quiet, 10 year old boy who is fun to be around. Kobe likes fishing, pole and ice fishing. He enjoys playing video games and going to the movie. Kobe would benefit from a mentor who could help him open up. He wants someone to do fun things together.

Elizabeth is a friendly, shy 13 year old girl who needs someone to get out out of the house to do things with.  Elizabeth likes horses, doing hair and makeup, basketball, crafts, and drawing.  One thing Elizabeth really hopes to do with her mentor is go horseback riding.

Brianna is a funny, sweet 11 year old girl who is looking for a mentor to help her with her self-esteem.  Brianna enjoys swimming, bike riding, talking, and playing board games and card games.  Brianna would like to learn to ride and care for horses and other animals.

Dulcie is a 5 year old girl who is cooperative and friendly, but can be aggressive at times.  Dulcie likes playing outside, reading, and trying to write.  She likes helping out and watching others make things.  She also enjoys singing and wants to learn how to tie her shoes.

Ana is a 14 year old girl who likes biking, bowling, fishing, swimming, watching movies, kayaking, downhill skiing and learning to waterski.

Alyssa is a 14 year old girl who likes drawing, biking, bowling, fishing, swimming, watching movies, kayaking, downhill skiing and learning to waterski.

Zach is a 12 year old boy who loves to go fishing, swimming, and playing video games.  Zach would like to learn woodworking and auto mechanics and also to carve.

Taleah is a 9 year old girl who is outgoing and sweet.  Taleah would benefit from a positive adult influence and the stability of having a mentor.  Taleah likes fishing, arts & crafts, sports, biking, gardening and cooking.  Taleah wants to try figure skating, cross country skiing and water skiing.  She also loves animals and wants to be animal police when she grows up.  Taleah says she likes to do all kinds of things and would "be happy with about everything."

Kayleigh is an 11 year old girl who is energetic and outgoing.  Kayleigh likes to play basketball and softball.  She likes going to any sporting events.  Kayleigh says she can't really skate, but she can kind of swim.  She would like to go to the YMCA and an art fair with her mentor.  Kayleigh says she doesn't get to spend much time with her mom because of her little sister and having a mentor would help her have the same amount of "funness" as her sister.

Mark is a 12 year old boy who says he is active and fun loving.  Mark likes match and football.  he also likes boating, fishing and swimming and would like to learn how to wrestle.

Danyelle is a 14 year old girl who is talkative and outgoing.  Danyelle likes dancing, singing and ice skating.  Danyelle would likes collecting rocks, wants to start a hip-hop club, and wants to learn to play volleyball.

Kim is a 12 year old girl who is very talkative, friendly and has a great sense of humor.  Kim likes to keep busy, likes playing soccer and swimming, and wants to go horseback riding.  Kim is hoping for a mentor who has patience as she asks lots of questions, and someone who will remember her, especially her birthday.

Tori is a 9 year old girl who is friendly, cheerful, and outgoing.  Tori does have some physical limitations but she does not let that stop her from enjoying movies, reading, music, crafts, indoor games and dolls.  Tori likes to go for walks, play outside and play on the swings.

Dylan is a 6 year old boy w ho likes to do anything outside in any weather.  Dylan is a happy, friendly, and at times hyper child who likes all sports and wants to learn how to swim.

Won't you please consider spending an hour a week with one of these children.  Just ask one of our mentors how rewarding their hour a week is!!!  For more information, contact Patti at 453-1910.
